Volunteer First Night Morris County needs your help! Board Positions Available The role of the board is to assist in the achievement of the revenue goals of First Night Morris County in a manner that demonstrates a strong level of personal commitment to the mission of the event. This includes making personal gifts of time, expertise and money, participating in fundraising events and or identifying and soliciting gifts from potential donors. Board members are expected to make a personal financial gift, serve on one of six committees and participate in a minimum of 3 actives that contribute to the promotion of First Night Morris County. The board meets on the first Thursday of the month, 11 months of the year. There is no meeting in the month of July. Meetings are normally held at 4:00pm at the Morris Township Municipal Building .The average time commitment for regular board and committee meetings is 32 hours a year and then varies depending on committee assignments. There is a great feeling of pride and joy when you give of yourself to make an event that is enjoyed by thousands of Morris County residents occur from year to year. We are currently seeking board members who have experience preferably in the areas of marketing; public relations and fundraising, however other experience will be considered. If you are interested in applying for a position on our Board please email your resume to info@firsnightmorris.com Event Volunteers Prior to the Event Command Center Staff: Assists with general office and clerical duties including but not limited to answering phone inquires, selling tickets and distributing programs prior to event at the Command Center. Street Carnivals: Work in booth minimum of one 4 hour shift in the months May through October selling tickets and answering questions about First Night®. Night of the Event Button Checker / Counter: Responsible for checking that all attendees have a First Night button before admitting them. Count the number of attendees per performance and notify people in line if site is filled to capacity. Site Manager: Responsible for the site and supervision of the volunteers. Serves as liason to the artists, the Command Center and the audience. Maintains the radio communication with the Command Center. Roving Ambassador: Responsible for answering questions, giving directions and distributing programs and maps to First Night® attendees throughout downtown Morristown. Volunteer Application
